This was a full-service healthcare video production from concept through delivery. We handled creative development, pre-production, casting, production, editing, and post-production. From the earliest conversations through final delivery, our role was to shape the piece around both the client's goals and the real experiences they wanted to reflect.
Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts came to us with a clear challenge: most people know them for one form of care, but far fewer understand the full range of healthcare services they provide.
The original concept started broad, but through collaboration and refinement, the focus narrowed to one specific story: a woman navigating perimenopause and seeking answers. The goal became less about explaining every service and more about showing one real experience of care, support, and access.
By following a single patient through intake, consultation, and treatment, the piece was built to feel personal, practical, and grounded in the reality of seeking care.
"Javier, Dominique & the entire CHF crew has been an absolutely incredible team to collaborate with. From managing timelines and sets, bringing creativity, understanding and bodying the scope & mission of the project, to just being inspiring thought partners, I would highly recommend Castillo Holliday Films for creative needs.
In the period we have worked together, they have acted professionally and confidently with deliverables in hand that matched exactly what we were looking for."
This project went through several rounds of development before landing where it did. The original concept covered multiple patients and a wider range of services, but through client feedback we narrowed the scope to something more focused and achievable. That shift allowed the piece to go deeper instead of wider, centering the story around one patient experience while keeping the larger message intact.
The piece was filmed in a real Planned Parenthood location, which brought a level of authenticity that shaped the production. Rather than transforming the space, we worked with it as it already existed. Much of the supporting cast were actual Planned Parenthood staff, including the provider, the front desk worker, and the interpreter. That added a natural familiarity to the scenes that would have been difficult to recreate otherwise.
Once the focus shifted to perimenopause care, the production became much more specific. Planned Parenthood wanted to reach older Latina and Hispanic women, so that shaped everything from casting to language accessibility. One important addition was the inclusion of an interpreter, reflecting the multilingual care offered in the real facility and making the story feel more honest to the people it was meant to reach.
This was our first direct-client project built specifically for paid media. That meant planning for multiple deliveries from the beginning: a horizontal cut, a vertical cut, and a square version. Knowing that early shaped how we framed, composed, and captured each scene, making sure the story could hold together across every format without losing its impact.

The visual approach stayed grounded in realism. Shot on a Canon C300 Mark III with Ultra Primes and Black Diffusion/FX, the image carries softness without losing clarity, helping the space feel warm and human while keeping the reality of the setting. The grade stayed natural and restrained, leaning into the existing tones of the clinic while preserving the sense of comfort built into the environment.
Lighting was built around the space itself. The facility already carried a lot of natural light, so the approach was less about reshaping the room and more about supporting what was already there. By working with daylight, the overheads, and only a small amount of additional shaping, the final image stayed true to how the space actually feels: open, calm, and welcoming.
