See Your Best

This was a full-service brand video production from concept through delivery. We handled creative development, casting, production, photography, editing, and post-production. Alongside the film, we also developed a brand photo library for their website and wider marketing use.

our involvement

Gaze Optical is a local optometry practice based in Watertown, MA, built around a more human experience of eye care. From the moment you walk in, the space feels welcoming and personal, with a focus on comfort rather than clinical distance.

The concept follows a simple service journey. A patient comes in needing glasses, goes through an eye exam, receives support choosing frames, and leaves with a pair tailored to both their vision and their personal style.

Alongside that process, the film also highlights the people behind it: Diane, Mac, and the Gaze Optical staff, who shape the experience through each step of care.

"We can’t say enough good things about working with the team at Castillo Holliday Films. Javier and Dominique were extremely professional and friendly in how they approached our project, and took care to make sure we had ample check-ins to ensure we were all aligned with our project goals. Anthony kept us on target and on track in the lead-up and through the process. Castillo Holliday Films came promptly and always prepared at every interaction, and we were very impressed with the detailed breakdown of the process of filming and photography. We’re a small business that takes great care in the work that we do, and we feel like Castillo-Holliday Films helped portray that so that the messages we want to convey shine through the video and photography work they were able to deliver for us."

CLIENT LOVE

The structure of the film mirrors the real experience of the service. We open with a patient arriving, move through the eye exam, frame selection, fitting, and final delivery, and end on the moment they leave with a clearer view of the world.

A Simple Story to Follow

This was a more minimal production day compared to some of our other work. With a smaller crew on set, we handled camera, lighting, and sound internally. That constraint pushed us to be intentional with coverage and pacing, focusing on the moments that clearly communicated the experience without overcomplicating the shoot.

On a Small Team

A key part of this project was adapting to the environment. Gaze Optical's space is colorful, detailed, and full of personality, which naturally shaped the look and feel of the film. We wanted to work with the space as it was, letting the environment, the staff, and the movement within it guide the camera and the framing.

Building Around the Space

Casting played an important role in reflecting both the identity of the brand and the community it serves. We wanted the hero patient to feel representative of that broader diversity, while keeping the focus on the experience rather than the performance.

Casting with Intention

before

The visual approach for See Your Best leaned clean and natural, with a slightly lifted, welcoming tone to match the space. Shot on a Canon C300 Mark III with Ultra Primes and diffusion, the image stays soft but clear, supporting both clarity and warmth. In post, the grade was kept restrained, letting the color of the space and the lighting design stay present without feeling overly stylized.

Natural. Bright. Approachable.

visual & sound choices

The piece opens and closes on the same image: the Gaze Optical sign. In the opening shot it's out of focus, reflecting the patient's impaired vision. By the end of the film, after the exam, the fitting, and the final delivery, we return to that same sign, now sharp and clear. It's a simple visual callback, but it ties the story together and reinforces the central idea of the piece without overexplaining it.
